We are partnering with a Brisbane‑based investment manager to appoint a Property Investment Associate to their growing team. This opportunity is well suited to someone with 2-4 years’ experience in property, real assets, or investment‑related roles who is keen to gain exposure across the full property investment lifecycle.
The successful candidate will support senior investment professionals across acquisitions, feasibility analysis, asset management support, research, and transaction execution, with a strong focus on commercial feasibility and the integration of sustainability and climate considerations into investment decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities:
Investment Analysis & Feasibility
- Support the assessment of development and investment feasibility for new acquisitions and projects, including cost assumptions, cash flows, and return metrics.
- Prepare and review feasibility models and supporting analysis, incorporating sustainability initiatives, climate risk, and resilience considerations.
- Assist with investment underwriting and scenario analysis focused on commercial viability and long‑term asset performance.
- Contribute to investment papers, feasibility summaries, and internal approval documentation.
Transaction Support
- Assist with due diligence processes, including coordination with external advisers such as valuers, lawyers, planners, technical consultants, and ESG specialists.
- Support the review of contracts, leases, and transaction documentation, with consideration of sustainability‑ and climate‑related risks and opportunities.
- Help manage transaction timelines and virtual data rooms.
Research & Market Analysis
- Conduct property and development market research across relevant sectors.
- Analyse macroeconomic, demographic, planning, regulatory, and climate‑related trends impacting property markets.
- Prepare research and feasibility inputs relating to sustainability, energy efficiency, and asset obsolescence risk.
Asset Management Support
- Assist with monitoring asset performance against business plans and feasibility assumptions.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and capital expenditure planning.
- Assist with initiatives aimed at improving asset sustainability, energy performance, and climate resilience.
- Support valuation processes and sustainability‑related reporting.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with senior investment managers, asset managers, development managers, and ESG specialists.
- Liaise with external consultants, brokers, and advisers as required.
Skills & Experience:
- 2-4 years’ experience in property investment, development, funds management, advisory, valuation, or a related field.
- Experience supporting or preparing property feasibility models.
- Ideally has worked within a Big Four bank or a Big Four accounting firm, particularly in a real assets or advisory role.
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of property fundamentals.
- Interest in sustainability, ESG, and climate impacts on property and development.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple workstreams.
- Relevant degree in Property, Finance, Economics, Commerce, Planning, or similar.
- Exposure to development feasibility, acquisitions, or project-based investments.
- Familiarity with Australian planning frameworks and development processes is advantageous.
- Knowledge of sustainability standards such as NABERS and Green Star is beneficial.
- Progress toward (or interest in pursuing) professional qualifications such as CA or CFA is considered a plus.
